Established policies and regulatory standards serve as a blueprint for executing strategic plans. Hence, my extensive experience in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance has significantly contributed to organizational development.
As a compliance professional, my clients are the individuals who comprise the organizations for which I work. I serve as a value-add to these organizations not merely by making relevant stakeholders aware of applicable rules and regulations, but by finding ways to help these individuals achieve their goals through legal and ethical means.
I take pride in bringing to the table my 8 years of leadership experience optimizing operations in various health systems. I leverage my expertise in law, business operations, contract management, auditing, risk monitoring, data architecture, and analytics to to galvanize collaborative partnerships and impact operational efficiency.
Here are some of my career highlights:
✓ Overhauled robust compliance programs for three healthcare entities through implementation of risk assessments, policy application, employee education, and internal auditing with heavy emphasis on privacy, HIPAA and HITECH regulations.
✓ Implemented systematic methods for Brightside Health employees to stay abreast of various state regulations pertaining to APRN practice rights, and reporting requirements for such matters as child and elder abuse, and duty to report (Tarasoff) mandates.
✓ Evaluated and proposed formal guidance to establish compliant business practices with standards set forth not only by HHS and the OCR, but also the ONC, FTCA, FCC, TCPA and CCPA.
✓ Led Coastal Health & Wellness operations to multiple successful Joint Commission and HRSA surveys.
✓ Instituted non-monetary compensation policies, auditing and enforcement procedures consistent with the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law for plausible engagements with potential referral groups.
✓ Functioned as a point of contact for corporate compliance matters while educating employees in identifying, reporting, and responding to potential breaches per company policies, posing a large-scale threat of information disclosure for 500+ patients
✓ Directed risk assessments and incident investigations to obtain root cause while implementing corrective actions.

Rocky began his career in compliance as a graduate assistant while enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In addition to his J.D., Rocky holds a Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Purdue University Global. Despite currently residing in Houston, Texas, Rocky is an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Panthers.
