James Plummer, known to his friends as Jim, has led an eclectic career path with a strong focus on justice. James grew up with a passion for the arts and initially pursued his dreams by obtaining an undergraduate degree in Illustration from the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design.
In his late twenties, James made a drastic career change and decided to pursue a law degree. He graduated from UNM Law in 2013, setting the stage for his future as a legal professional. His first role was as a prosecutor for the 2nd Judicial District, where he honed his skills in criminal law.
James soon sought new opportunities and relocated to Alamogordo to continue his work as a prosecutor in the 12th District. It was during this time that he discovered his calling as a Public Defender. In 2016, James began working as a Public Defender, dedicating his time and expertise to representing those who couldn't afford legal representation.
In 2018, James transferred to the Santa Fe Public Defender's office, where he continued to serve the community before ultimately returning to the prosecution side of the legal system in Albuquerque, the 2nd District, in late 2022.
Throughout his career, James has been committed to fighting for justice and upholding the law. He remains an active member of the legal community and continues to make a positive impact on those he encounters.
